Beef Lasagna

Savor layers of excellence with savory beef, creamy cheese, and tangy tomato sauce in the classic home-style and comfort beef lasagna.

INGREDIENTS

• 9 lasagna noodles

• 1 pound ground beef

• 1 onion, chopped

• 2 cloves garlic, minced

• 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes

• 1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste

• 1/2 cup water

• 2 tbsp of cannabis infused olive oil

• 1 tsp dried basil

• 1 tsp dried oregano

• Salt and pepper to taste

• 1 egg

• 15 ounces ricotta cheese

• 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

• 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

• Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles until al dente, before draining the noodles. Rinse with cold water to prevent sticking.

  2. In a large skillet, heat the cannabis infused olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and sauté until softened, before adding the ground beef to the skillet and cooking until browned.

  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper and let simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and the egg, until well combined.

  5. Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish before placing 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce and spreading half of the cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of meat sauce on top before sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the lasagna.

  6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes before removing the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  7. Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish the lasagna with fresh basil leaves, if desired.
